Today I have only had three hours to work on new artwork, but I'm pretty happy with how it's coming along.
This is a piece I'm doing for the MacGregor Fine Art Gallery here in Glasgow. They have an April exhibition with the theme Dear Green Place, and this artwork depicts King Righ (from my Hollows Glen stories) returning to his castle along the river.
The thematic colours art grey and green (the colours of Glasgow) and I think they are coming along nicely.
I will have this piece finished by the end of the month and off to the framer, so I look forward to hearing what you think, have I hit the theme while staying with my whimsical style?
I finished this little critter, and I've been having a heap of fun on social media turning both this folklore creature and my dragon artwork into Magic the Gathering card designs.
It is probably just the size I have been creating these new pieces in (41cm x 51cm) that just seems to fit the design size. It is so much fun to see them in this way, but in no way what I was intending for these pieces.
Head over to the Portfolio page and have a look at the finished piece.
I'm working on this piece to be a part of the
Dark n Whimsical Artists Collective auction this coming March. The theme is German Folklore and this little critter is called a Wolpertinger.
I'm having a heap of fun painting this creature in oils on canvas, and I can't wait to share the finished piece. I will be sharing on my social media when I know what date and time the auction starts so all my lovely fans can get on there early.
This piece is HUGE!
This is by far the largest oil painting I have undertaken measuring 4 feet tall.
I can only imagine this piece is going to take about 6 months to complete. I'm trying not to rush it, because I want it to have the level of detail I usually put into my art, but want to bring something new too.
Hopefully I will get to share it with you all in June 2025!
